Problem:
The Client Packager tool lets you install the Client/Server Security Agent via CD-ROM or similar media. It compresses the setup or updates files into one self-extracting package, which you can copy to a CD or email from the WFBS Standard / Advanced console.

You can use the Client Packager when:

Deploying to client computers in remote offices with low bandwidth.

You cannot install to clients using remote install.

Installing on clients in a VPN.

Installing on roaming clients.

Note: If you want to watch this procedure, click on this WFBS Online Video: WFBS 5.0 Client Deployment ( 800x600 or 1024x768).

Solution:

To use Client Packager, please do the following:

1.
On the Security Server, open Windows Explorer and go to ..\PCCSRV\Admin\Utility\ClientPackager.

2.
Double-click the ClnPack.exe file to open the Client Packager console.

3.
For Target operating system, choose the client operating system.

4.
Under Package type, choose from:

Setup - Use this for installing the Client/Server Security Agent program.

Update - Choose this if you are updating Client/Server Security Agent components.

5.
Under Options, choose from:

Silent Mode - This creates a package that installs in the background and does not show the installation status window.

MSI Package - This creates a package that conforms to the Microsoft Windows Installer Package format. Choose this option if you will use Active Directory to deploy the package. Otherwise, do not choose this option if you want to create a .EXE package.

Disable Prescan - For new installations, choose this if you want to prevent WFBS or WFBS Advanced from doing normal file scanning before the setup.

6.
Under Components, click the item(s) you want to include in the installation package:

Program - This puts all Client/Server Security Agent components in the package.

Scan engine - A core program, the scan engine works with pattern files to protect users against known threats.

Virus pattern - This works hand in hand with the scan engine to detect and clean malware.

Vulnerability pattern - A file that helps pinpoint vulnerabilities on client computers.

Spyware Components - These include the spyware pattern, spyware active-monitoring pattern, spyware engine, and anti-rootkit driver.

Common Firewall Driver - This refers to the Personal Firewall driver.

Network Virus Pattern - The latest pattern file for network viruses

DCE/DCT- Refers to the Damage Cleanup Template / Engine, the automated cleanup component of Trend Micro antivirus products.

Intellitrap Pattern - A file that helps Client/Server Security identify malicious code in compressed files.

7.
For Source file, click the "…" button and then look for the ofcscan.ini file in the \PCCSRV folder.

8.
For Output file, click the "…" button to specify the package filename and where you will save it.

9.
Click Create. Client Packager builds the package and then shows Package created successfully.

10.
Click OK.

11.
Distribute the installation package to users by copying the package you created to a CD or other media
